Unhygienic Experience at Domino's, Phoenix Mall (Markey City) June 28, 2025 Yet again, a disappointing and unhygienic experience at Domino’s Pizza, Phoenix Mall. I witnessed staff preparing pizzas with bare hands, which is completely unacceptable in any food service setting. When I questioned them, I was told, "Plastic gloves are not allowed as per mall rules. "This raises a serious concern, does the mall permit food to be served without basic hygiene standards? If so, that’s extremely irresponsible. To make things worse, instead of addressing the issue, the staff tried to hide the preparation area behind boxes. This is not how food safety concerns should be handled. Hiding the problem won’t fix it, implementing proper hygiene practices will. #Domino’s and #PhoenixMallManagement must take this seriously. Food safety is no small issue, it plays a major role in preventing infections and illness. Please train your staff in hygiene protocols, customer handling, and accountability. For a brand like Domino’s, this level of negligence is disappointing. I hope corrective action is taken immediately. /*************************************************/ Thank you for your response. However, it does not address the core issues. While baking at 465°F ensures food safety during cooking, concern is with what happens before and after the baking process, the critical moments where contamination can occur. Why are staff not wearing face masks? Masks are a basic hygiene standard in any food preparation setting. The absence of masks poses a direct risk of contamination through speaking, coughing, or sneezing. Why are staff handling raw ingredients and food boxes with bare hands? Bare-hand contact with raw ingredients, toppings, and boxes is a clear hygiene risk. Hourly handwashing, which neither customers nor your management can verify in real time, does not replace visible food safety practices like gloves. What precautions are taken after the pizza is baked? The handling that happens post-bake (cutting, boxing, packing) is not protected by oven temperature. If staff aren’t using gloves or masks at this stage, contamination risk still exists. Your current explanation about germicidal soap and oven temperature avoids the actual point. Customers expect to see hygiene in action - masks, gloves, clean prep areas, and open handling practices.
